The LEO adapter is MESA’s most basic, best-selling model, and features an optimal stock elevation allowing the use of iron sights or even the bead sight. The concept behind the telescoping stock system is simple: the shotgun stock is replaced by an adapter, which attaches to the rear end of the shotgun’s receiver and it, in turn, mimics the rear end of an AR-15 lower receiver, into which an AR-15 receiver extension tube can be threaded. The AR-15 telescoping stock and pistol grip can then be reliably attached. LEO® Telescoping Stock Adapter Adapts AR-15 style buttstocks and pistol grips for use with Remington 870, Mossberg 500/590 and Beretta 1301 shotguns. Stock adapters are investment cast aircraft grade aluminum, CNC machined and powdercoated black with a tough, chemical resistant finish. Adjustable length-of-pull (LoP) to fit shooter’s stature or for use with body armor and other equipment. Optional KynSHOT® hydraulic recoil buffer (standard damping) reduces felt recoil by 70%; KynSHOT® hydraulic recoil buffer (selectable damping) reduces felt recoil by up to 90%. Gives the shotgun similar handling characteristics to the AR-15. Collapsible stock makes shotgun easier to stow, transport and deploy. Pistol grip configuration allows increased control and user comfort. Sling attachment points included. Optional SureShell® aluminum carriers can be added to the M4 carbine buttstock. No gunsmithing required.
