The mounts themselves get 5 stars ( 794001100 ), the first picture gets 1 star because it's showing two different style mounts. The top one is for the S&K mount with integral rings...the other shows the Weaver-style scope base (the bottom mount). That is very confusing for those who aren't aware there are two different mounts showing.

I own both mounts and they are easy to install and use...although they are side mounts...not in-line with the bore.

great mount but it needed some sanding to fit my 1918 eddystone.

I have a Universal commercial M1 carbine which are a little different than the military versions. The base fit, but required a small amount of clearance grinding with a dermal tool to clear the bolt handle, also needed file the piece that slides into the dove tail. I needed to contact S&K, they were great. If you are capable of the above work I recommend this base, it transforms the capabilities of this weapon.

This product is very simple and very strong. Your scope will sit very low to your gun (thats what you want) . I have tried every other scope mount on the market for this gun (rugar mini 14 model 181 )and this is by far the best!! Strong,simple and unlike other scope mounts for this gun, your scope will sit very low to your gun. Very pleased!

The mount shown must be the first brand of mount I tried that flew off with inital firing and scope, rings, and mount altogether landed on concrete dinging up scope. It had set screws to be used in combo with Locktite on the threads: NOT a solid installation! It would have been with drilling & tapping. The next brand of mount used a ring clamp around barrel to secure front of mount but back tang broke off in the same exact manner as described by another reviewer. Required drill & tap job to solidify back end (by gunsmith) and now is VERY solid.

I no longer have mine but has anyone tried to buy the scope rings that have a riser and do not mount low.. this should allow the upward travel of the empty shell to pop out without hitting your scope.
I have seen some it did not help though so you have to try it or watch the shell on ejection before you buy the riser scope rings!

This mount is very nice since it replaces the rear sight so you can put on any rifle scope you want without drilling and tapping. Takes about two minutes to install. Just a note, the special nut has groves are supposed to match the groves of the mount when installed. This was not quite as clear with the instructions included. Once it's on, it stays on solid.

The mounting system for the series 180 mini-14 is supurb however; the ejection of the fired cases hit the scope on exiting. A deflector of some sort would be required. 20 rounds fired have caused damage to my scope on the windage adjustment cover and the underside of the scope.

I bought this for my Ishapore 2A. I installed according to the directions and the rear tab that goes behind the stripper clip bridge snapped off under the recoil of the first shot. It seems like I got a bad mount, because it sheared off cleanly as if there were already damage to that area. I am awaiting a reply from Brownells and hoping they live up to their reputation.

One thing they don't tell you is you can't remove your bolt with the mount installed without removing material from your bolt head. Also you have to mill out your stock for the forward band.

2 stars because it broke, but it's the only option besides a drill and tap.

We purchased this to mount a scope to a .308 Ishapore, as the description said this product included parts and instructions to do just that. Not only was that incorrect --no reference to the Ishapore in the instructions and the parts did not fit-- but the parts that were included were USED.

I looked for a long time for something to work on my 180 series. I bought one of these 2-3 years ago when they first came out. It works great and it dose not hurt the rifle at all. You can put the original sights back on whenever you want. I'm very happy with mine.

Customer wanted a scope mount for sporterized MK3. Called and was told this mount should fit with the bridg over the rifle bolt. Well it has to have the bridge. Will have to explor other options.

Very easy to install, simply remove rear sight and replace w/mount. No alterations to rifle; replace rear sight any time you are ready. Great product!
