Screws Onto Recoil Spring To Prevent Loss Of Plug During Disassembly

Machined steel recoil plug has mil-spec flange punched into the side so the recoil spring can be wound into the plug before seating in the slide. Prevents the plug from flying off spring during field stripping and getting lost or hitting the operator, possibly causing injury. Precision-turned for proper fit in full-size Government model pistols, with flat, diamond-pattern knurling on the front. If you lose the plug, your gun can t operate, and you re done for the day. Keep one or two of these in your range box or field maintenance kit for backup.

SPECS: Steel, blued. 1½ (3.8cm) long, .495 (12.6mm) O.D. Fits mil-spec Government model.

Si Avvita Alla Molla Di Rinculo Per Prevenire La Perdita Del Tappo Durante Lo Smontaggio

Il tappo di rinculo in acciaio lavorato ha una flangia mil-spec forgiata sul lato, permettendo di avvolgere la molla di rinculo attorno al tappo prima di posizionarlo nella carrello. Questo previene che il tappo si sganci dalla molla durante lo smontaggio sul campo e si perda o colpisca l'operatore, causando potenzialmente infortuni. Realizzato con precisione per adattarsi perfettamente alle pistole modello Government full-size, con zigrinatura piatta a forma di diamante sulla parte frontale. Se perdi il tappo, la tua arma non può funzionare e la tua giornata di tiro è compromessa. Tieni uno o due di questi nella tua scatola da tiro o nel kit di manutenzione da campo come riserva.

This is the plug all 1911s should have. Just like John Moses Browning intended. The key is the flange that allows the recoil spring to screw into the plug, keeping the plug in place when field stripping your 1911. No more flying plugs, and no more crawling on the floor in the corner to retrieve it. Add to that the typical high quality and beautifully done checkering, and you have the plug that should have come in your 1911 to begin with. There is one downside, no stainless steel. Are you listening Bill?

Dont wait. Order it now and replace that nasty Springfield government one it came with. This item is perfect and fits a heck of alot better than the factory part.

Flange works great (18/11/2011)

The punched flange allows you to "screw" the recoil spring on to the plug so that when you go to field strip, the plug is less likely to go airborn. I like the old-school look of the diamond knurling and it looks great my TRP. The fact that it comes from Cylinder and Slide means it's top-notch.

Great Idea! (17/12/2011)

This is a great recoil spring plug. Anyone who has ever accidentally launched one across the room while disassembling a 1911 will immediately appreciate this product. Too bad Cylinder & Slide doesn't make them for the Combat Commander. I'm going to have to trim the last one I ordered with a tubing cutter to use it in my Commander.

Original Spec is Still the Best (27/10/2013)

This plug captures the recoil spring, just as the original 1911 plans specified, making field stripping easier by keeping parts together.

Somehow this thoughtful detail isn't standard anymore, even with higher end 1911s. But at least replacing your recoils spring plug with this part is easy and inexpensive.

Bluing is very dark, almost black.

Looks nice (02/10/2014)

I had planned to replace the full length guide rod & plug in my RIA 1911, since it makes field stripping a PITA. The C&S part looked fantastic with a nice satin blued finish. Then I measured it with my digital micrometer. The ordinance specifications for the recoil plug is 0.4985"+0/-0.005". The C&S part measured 0.4946-0.4957". So the plug is in spec, but a bit egg shaped.

Worth 3 times the money (15/05/2015)

I've purchased 2 of these. One is in my 1911 Government model and one is in my Commander.

The one for the Commander was easily trimmed down to length with a standard tubing cutter.

These plugs make it so much easier to field strip with out the possibility of having to chase the plug all over the place.
