The Mike-102 features a full-length rail and monolithic-style upper receiver, mated to a lower receiver that can handle the AK-102 magazines. The integrated, proprietary recoil system allows for the upper to function without the need for a buffer tube, and the Mike-102 will function with a folded stock or brace. Offered in several barrel lengths and variations to suits any shooters style, compatible with any stock or brace that designed to be used with pica tiny rail adapters. The Foxtrot Mike Mike-102 has less reciprocating mass than an AR-15 or AK style gun, which results in a flat shooting gun, that allows for quicker follow up shots and softer felt recoil. The Mike 102 boasts a forward charging handle that is non reciprocating, which is a huge upgrade over AR style guns that take AK magazines. The location and operation of the charging handle will feel familiar to an AK user. The charging handle can be installed on either side, great for left-handed shooters. The monolithic style upper and MLOK free float handguard smoothly transition to the handguard, which is easily removed for maintenance or swapping the charging handle. The production samples of the Mike-102 were put through rigorous testing at Kalashbash and Red October and received positive feedback from consumers. It has been heavily tested using readily available AC Unity 5.56 magazines and has proven to be simple, reliable, and durable. The lightweight, direct-impingement operating system is housed in the upper receiver and allows for the use of folding stocks and picatinny rail adapters. All the little details that set Foxtrot Mike apart... All the Mike-102 barrels are chambered in .223 Wylde and come with a 1:8 twist. This allows you to run .223 or 5.56. The twist rate will allow you to adequately stabilize most any grain bullet you’ll put through it. They go to extreme measures to make the best possible barrel, and Foxtrot Mike states they will never sell their barrels, as they are too costly to produce for themselves. Foxtrot Mike uses premium Mil-spec 41V50 barrel material from Gerdau. They gun-drill, ream and button in house, and then chose to do a true vacuum stress relieving, which is 10x more expensive that standard stress relieving. Foxtrot Mike has made premium barrels using their proprietary processes which allowed them to produce a 1MOA 9mm barrel that is well documented. The same care and attention were carried over into their 5.56-barrel production, each barrel comes with a reverse crown, and a burnished chamber, to produce a mirror like surface. The barrels are coated in Melonite (QPQ), and done in a long duration, deep penetration process. The handguard is impressive due to its rigidity and barrel nut design. Using a taper-lock on the barrel nut and barrel has many advantages. Tapers provide much more surface to distribute the torque load. Tapers are also self-centering and improve concentricity. Using a longer barrel nut that has more bearing surface will help the handguard clamp to the barrel nut and add rigidity Keying the handguard and upper together is also a bomb proof, proven method of anti-rotation. Because the gas block is keyed to the barrel so it can’t be misaligned. Also, the fact that its pinned in place means that it is physically impossible for it to rotate or move. Gas blocks that use set screws always have the potential to come loose. Extended magazine release and firing pin spring come standard on the Mike-102 as well.
